You may have heard your local football fanatics counting down the days until Gather Round.
The AFL’s Gather Round is nine games of footy across South Australia from April 10 to April 13.
This is the third year the footy festival will be held in SA, with two games played in the Barossa Valley to showcase the state’s tourism sites to travellers.
Sister Act: the Musical is playing at the Festival Theatre from March 29 to April 19.
The story is based on the acclaimed movie featuring Whoopi Goldberg, but includes new tracks that have helped the musical accumulate six Olivier awards.

The University of Adelaide’s Politics and International Relations Association is holding a federal election forum on April 29 at 6pm at the Braggs Lecture Theatre.
The forum will include talks from Labor senator Karen Grogan, Liberal candidate for Boothby Nicole Flint, Greens senator Barbara Pocock, and former senator Rex Patrick, who is running for a senate position with the Jacqui Lambie Network.
This event is focussed on youth-related issues; important for all young people to consider with the federal election happening on May 3.

Festivals
Norwood Food and Wine Festival is coming back on April 13 during the AFL’s Gather Round.
It will be a South Australian foodie’s extravaganza and will feature local culinary powerhouses such as Kiin and Africola Canteen.
The festival runs along The Parade in Norwood and offers free entry to live music and entertainment — and the chance to try some delicious food.
The Yiasou Adelaide Greek Festival is shaping up to be to be South Australia’s biggest Greek festival in years.
Event organisers promise to represent every region of Greece through music, dance, food, and drinks.
This cultural celebration is held at Bonython Park on April 5 and 6.
Concerts
The Jungle Giants are an Aussie indie-rock staple known for their energetic and vibrant performances.
The band is set to thrill audiences with their ‘Hold My Hand’ tour at Hindley Street Music Hall on April 11.
In March, the band announced that their guitarist, Sam Hales, had been admitted to hospital because of a motor accident.
Sam stated via Instagram that “the April tour is 100% happening” and that he has been given the all-clear by doctors.
“We’re on!! Can’t bloody believe it,” he gushed over Instagram.

Cyndi Lauper is bringing her farewell tour to Australia for the girls who just want to have fun.
Lauper has long-established herself as pop royalty and will be tapping into that by inviting Aussie pop icons The Veronicas as special guests.
The Girls Just Want to Have Fun Farewell tour hits Adelaide Entertainment Centre on April 10.

It’s hard to miss a gig from a band as eye-catching as the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets.
The psychedelic rockers are no strangers to the Australian music scene, cementing their credentials after being nominated for an ARIA Music Award in 2021.
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets are performing with Adelaide’s own four-piece band, Birds are Spies on April 12 at Lion Arts Factory.

Culture and Crafts
The Cranker Rock n Roll Market will be back and on April 26 between 12pm and 4pm.
This market is a go-to for all your unique, alternative, and handmade finds.
Next to the Cranker is Roxie’s Garden which will be closing its doors on May 15.
Roxie’s is a staple for affordable catchups with friends; every Wednesday they offer $15 pizza and $15 jugs of beer and cider.
Make sure you swing past their atmospheric beer garden before their doors close.
Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock is an iconic Australian film that celebrates its 50th year anniversary in 2025.
The movie, partially filmed in SA, is a visually striking tale of a group of boarding school students’ mysterious disappearance into the wilderness.
Palace Nova’s Eastend Cinema is screening this cult classic in 4K with an ExiMax presentation on April 2.
