In 2025, NAIDOC Week will occur from July 6 to 13 and, to celebrate, the City of Adelaide will be holding events in the heart of Rundle Mall.

This year’s theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy”, honours First Nations history and the value in coming together to celebrate the knowledge that shapes our future.

NAIDOC in the Mall will begin on July 9 from 10:30am and includes native tasting stalls, art installations, live music, and native animal enclosures.

Up on the Eyre Peninsula, Whyalla will be celebrating its annual CuttleFest until the end of the month.

This festival observes the migration of the Australian Giant Cuttlefish.

These colourful creatures migrate to the Great Southern Reef in the colder months to find a mate and breed.

CuttleFest is holding events such as glass bottom boat tours, kayaking adventures, snorkel tours, and guided dives to catch a glimpse of the extraordinary cephalopod.

See the full itinerary here.

Coopers will be holding its annual Vintage Ale Release Dinner to satisfy your foodie cravings through July.

The feast will include a three-course meal, beer, and the first pour of 2025’s vintage ale.

Attendees will hear stories from Tim Cooper and a special guest to ease them into the evening.

Coopers Annual Vintage Release Dinner will be devoured on July 27. Tickets can be purchased here.

Live music

Dope Lemon will be returning to Adelaide just in time to celebrate their fifth studio album Golden Wolf.

Dope Lemon — alternatively known as popular Australian artist Angus Stone — has a particularly groovy and dreamy style that many Triple J listeners know and love.

The band will be performing at Hindley Street Music Hall on July 27 at 7:30pm.

Tickets are available here.

The Dreggs is an Australian two-piece indie-folk band from the Sunshine Coast.

After selling over 20,000 tickets in Australia in 2024, the band will play at Hindley Street Music Hall on July 19.

Tickets to The Dreggs’ The Art of Uncommon Practice Album Tour are available here.

The UniBar will be throwing Splash Down Fest — its very own music festival with a star lineup of local musicians.

Splash Down Fest is an all-ages gig and with seven wildly different yet complementary acts this lineup will not disappoint.

The lineup includes Weekend Rage, Townhouse, Witch Hunt, and Blue Lucy, just to name a few.

With tickets selling for $22.43, Saturday July 19 will be a night you won’t want to miss.

Lights under a winter night sky

Most South Australians will have heard of Illuminate — but this winter’s festival is back and better than ever.

Illuminate will run from July 2 to July 20 and features many standout light exhibitions, such as the Universal Kingdom.

Universal Kingdom: The Next Era will be held in the Adelaide Zoo to display bright dinosaur installations and state-of-the-art puppetry.

The full program for Illuminate is available here.

Supersonic is Illuminate’s new festival of music, art, and film, alongside performances and art displays from across Australia.

The festival will run across seven venues in Adelaide CBD’s West End, meaning there’ll be something for absolutely everyone.

The festival will take place on July 19 at 6:00pm, with ticket prices varying depending on venues.

Multipass tickets for all venues are available here.

Street Cars and Long Nights is a site-specific audio work that discusses memories of late evenings spent in unexpected places.

Relive nostalgic and intimate memories chatting to a friend, family, or lover under a winter night sky in Port Adelaide.

This audio work plays from July 15 to July 20.
